An itinerant scribbler, he learned the journalist's trade in the early 1990s from Andrzej Woyciechowski at Radio Zet. After a taking a few years off to work at the Batory Foundation (programme supporting cultural magazines), he returned to the team, first as editor of the first online literary weekly "Latarnik" and later, briefly, as a journalist at the culture section for the daily "Gazeta Wyborcza". Between 2001 and 2004, he edited the English-language section of the "Forum" weekly. He went on to coordinate the editorial team at Onet.pl. Between 2007 and 2011, he was deputy editor at the "Plus minus" supplement to the "Rzeczpospolita" daily. Between 2012 and 2017, he was a member of the editorial team at the bimonthly "Magazyn Wino". He works with the "Ferment" wine quarterly, and since 2011 has been a regular contributor to the "Tygodnik Powszechny" weekly, writing on politics and culinary trends and customs. Since 2015 he has been a regular food columnist and editor of the national section. In his time he translates Italian crime novels.
