Marzena Lubaszka

Soprano, studied solo singing at the Academy of Music in Wrocław and Italian studies at the University of Wrocław. She worked under the direction of Patricia MacMahon (Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama), Kai Wessel (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln) and Emma Kirkby. She recorded solo motets in Neapolitan style as part of the “1000 Years of Music in Wrocław” series for the DUX label (with Concerto Palatino ensemble), works by Heinrich Schütz for the Dutch Brilliant Classics label (with the Italian ensemble Cappella Augustana), as well as Polish music of the 18th and 19th century from the collections of the library of the Jasna Góra Monastery in Częstochowa for the Musicon label. She worked with Capella Cracoviensis in the production of George Frideric Handel’s operas (“Sosarme”, “Amadigi di Gaula”, “Rodelinda”) as well as works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (“Le nozze di Figaro”, “Così fan tutte”, “Don Giovanni”). She also collaborated with Cricoteka in Krakow on international productions of “Whispering Pines 10” by Shana Moulton and Nick Hallett and “…of love, springing from pain and despondency, agony and death” by Sebastian Cichocki and Ian Saville; she also performed in “Joan of Arc” by Noa Ain and Krzysztof Jasiński for the STU Theatre and in unique theatre projects directed by Cezary Tomaszewski and Jan Peszek: Christoph Willibald Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice”, Arnold Schönberg’s “Pierrot Lunaire”, George Frideric Handel’s “Amadigi di Gaula” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro”.
