Marcin Świątkiewicz

Marcin Świątkiewicz plays a variety of types of harpsichords and clavichords, as well as historical pianos and pipe organs, with a passionate propensity for improvisations. As a soloist, conductor and chamber musician, he regularly works with leading international and Polish orchestras and ensembles, including Brecon Baroque, Arte dei Suonatori, {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna, Capella Cracoviensis and Aukso. He recorded music for labels such as classic production osnabrück, BIS Records, Channel Classics, Accent, Alpha, Decca, Linn Records, DUX, as well as for radio and television stations throughout Europe. 2015 saw the release of a Diapason d'Or-winning album with harpsichord concertos by Johann Gotfried Müthell. In 2017, the artist released the critically acclaimed solo album “Cromatica”, followed a year later with the recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s harpsichord concertos for the Channel Classics label. His recording of Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber’s “Rosenkranzsonaten”, carried out together with Rachel Podger, David Miller and Jonathan Manson, received the Gramophone Award. In 2016, the artist won the “Paszport Polityki” Award. He is also a professor at the Academy of Music in Katowice, focusing on teaching solo playing and improvisation courses based on the partimentomethod.
