Krakow Community Choir

Krakow Community Choir (also known as Vox Populi and Social Choir) is a project choir founded at the initiative of Capella Cracoviensis. Its beginnings date back to 2016, when during the inauguration of the Theatrum Musicum project, a group of amateur singers performed choral parts of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” together with singers of Capella Cracoviensis under the direction of Jan Tomasz Adamus (choir preparation: Szczepan Kosior, Marek Opaska, Helena Poczykowska, Antonina Ruda, Ilona Szczepańska). The event turned out to be a great success, and the interest of singing enthusiasts in cooperation with professional musicians resulted in subsequent musical challenges, including the performance of Henry Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” (during the Opera Rara Festival), as well as Johann Sebastian Bach’s “St Matthew Passion” and the “O Jesu Christ, mein's Lebens Licht” motet (as part of the Musica Poetica Festival.)
